Worked Fast, Safe for Frogs, and Effective
Our pond was dug in 2018 and we didn't have any issues until this year (2024). I noticed blobs of green algae starting to grow under the water in late spring (picture included). I tried raking it out manually but it was a neverending battle It was such a goopy mess trying to get the algae out with the rake and more just kept forming. The algae soon started forming on the surface and was quickly taking over a bit more of my 1/8 acre pond by the day. I called and spoke to someone in customer service regarding my concerns and treatment plan and they advised me on what was best. This Citrine Plus worked magic! I could not believe how quickly it made a difference and how easy it was to apply. I wore a mask and gloves and poured handfuls of the granules right into my gloves. I then applied it directly onto the green blobs/surface algae as a spot-treatment. I just eye-balled the amounts, roughly a couple of good handfuls per area. I could see the granules suspended in the gelatinous blobs of algae under the water and resting on the surface algae. By the next day, there was a significant difference! I could almost see the changes by the hour, with the algae becoming less and less noticeable. It took care of both the algae on the surface and the stuff growing under the water. I had ordered a different product specifically for surface algae and still haven't opened it and doubt I'll ever need it. I started algae treatment in mid-June and it completely cleared it within days. The algae was concentrated around the edges of my pond and spreading out 3 to 4 feet in some areas. It cleared beautifully and maybe a week or two later I noticed some minor patches here and there trying to make a comeback. I did more spot treatments with the granules and that is the last I've done with it (it is now August). These granules worked better than I could have hoped and did not harm any of my beloved tadpoles/frogs.
